Default A way around the paintball mask?

Is this a legitimate way around the paintball mask?

    -Neoprene mask
-Shooting glasses or low profile goggles

Tell me what you all think.
    Thank you!

How old are you? Most fields Ive played at/read about require masks for younger people. If you are under 16, you are most likely not going to get away from a full face mask.

Otherwise, some goggles (always use full seal goggles, stay away from shooting glasses) and a shemagh or neoprene mask works. You will still feel the BB, and it probably wont chew up your face if hit.

I am almost 16... Do you think some fields will make an exception?

Not likely. It's mostly due to insurance reasons.

Well.... I guess I'll just have to deal with my face mask until I turn 16 then.

BH, it's an insurance thing, and in MN & WI anyone under the age of 18 is generally required to wear a full paintball mask. If you only have to wait until you're 16 in IA, feel lucky.

    Touchette,

I'm not complaining. I was just asking around if that would work before I bought anything.

Black hawk there are some really low profile masks available that will let you shoulder you rifle and not get in the way. I know several adults that use full masks

I run a DYE i4. I cut the cheeks back a bit but i still have good face and mouth protection. Best thing about the I4, it doesnt fog period. I know 2 other people with the same mask and theyll tell you the same thing. The field of view is awsome, its comfortable and its a easy peesy to change the lens. Ill never use another mask again unless they stop making it and im forced to.

FYI, under most circumstances, insurers will require the PB mask to be complete unmodified.

There are a handful of masks out there with rubber or soft plastic face shields that are pliable so when you go to make the cheek weld it forms to the shape necessary to make a good (enough) weld.

Edit: BH, I know you weren't complaining, you're just looking for alternatives to a full PB mask (like most people under 18 do) and I didn't mean to imply that you were complaining. I just wanted to inform you of the plight of similarly aged persons in other states.
